Originele verhaal (gepubliceerd op 15 november 2020) volgt:
YouTube is verreweg het populairste platform voor het delen van video’s in bijna elk land ter wereld.
De site beweert dat deze meer dan 2 miljard maandelijks ingelogde gebruikers heeft en elke dag wordt er meer dan een miljard uur aan video geconsumeerd.
Ondanks de vele controverses is YouTube nog steeds de eerste plaats waar de meeste mensen die video’s willen delen of bekijken, ook terechtkomen. En dit zal misschien niet snel veranderen.
Maar niet alles werkt zoals het zou moeten en daarom komen kijkers, of zelfs videomakers, soms tegen problemen aan of hebben ze te maken met vervelende bugs die zo nu en dan op YouTube verschijnen.
Gisteren ging YouTube een paar uur niet beschikbaar voor veel gebruikers over de hele wereld. Kijkers werden begroet met een foutmelding bij het afspelen van video’s op de site volgens meerdere rapporten.
YouTube heeft de situatie erkend en het probleem voor iedereen opgelost gebruikers en hebben een follow-up commentaar gegeven met een verontschuldiging voor de onderbreking.
Gelukkig komen grote problemen zoals deze niet vaak voor, maar minder impactvolle bugs ergeren gebruikers vaker wel dan niet.
We hebben onlangs een aantal bugs en problemen op de site/app gerapporteerd, zoals de bug die schakelt ondertiteling automatisch in en de AS-10-fout bij het genereren van inkomsten met kanaal onder andere.
Meestal erkent YouTube de meeste bugs en problemen die gebruikers tegenkomen en verhelpt ze deze binnen een paar uur of een paar dagen, afhankelijk van het aantal getroffen gebruikers.
Het brengt ook regelmatig updates uit voor de applicatie op Android en iOS om ervoor te zorgen dat eventuele bugs worden verholpen.
Dat gezegd hebbende, is het niet altijd gemakkelijk om bij te houden welke bugs zijn erkend of verholpen en welke nog in afwachting zijn van bevestiging.
Daarom houden we in dit bericht de status van alle bestaande bugs, problemen en in behandeling zijnde verbeteringen zo goed mogelijk bij om u te helpen tijd te besparen.
De onderstaande tracker wordt regelmatig geüpdatet wanneer er een nieuwe bug opduikt of wanneer er ontwikkelingen zijn op bestaande bugs, problemen of in afwachting van verbeteringen op YouTube, dus het is verstandig om dit bericht regelmatig in de gaten te houden.

Update 1 (17 november)
IST 11:00 uur: verschillende gebruikers melden dat ze bepaalde nummers die eerder beschikbaar waren op YouTube Music, niet kunnen afspelen. Het bericht”Song is niet beschikbaar”verschijnt wanneer u deze nummers willekeurig probeert af te spelen. Hoofd hier voor meer info.
Update 2 (18 november)
IST 13:45 uur: het lijkt erop dat toegewezen redacteuren en beheerders van YouTube-kanalen geen video’s kunnen uploaden naar het kanaal. In een nieuw antwoord op een vraag op Twitter beweerde TeamYouTube dat hun team nog steeds bezig is het probleem op te lossen.

Update 3 (19 november)
IST 10:15 uur: Sommige Google Pixel 3a/3a XL-en zelfs een paar Pixel 4a-gebruikers melden dat het afspelen van audio schokkerig wordt of helemaal stopt nadat het scherm is vergrendeld. Het wordt weer normaal zodra het scherm is ontgrendeld. Ga naar hier voor meer informatie.
IST 16:30 uur: YouTube Music-gebruikers hebben zich gerealiseerd dat ze niet de mogelijkheid hebben om de autoplay-functie uit te schakelen wanneer ze een enkele track aan de wachtrij toevoegen. Dit heeft natuurlijk veel gebruikers gefrustreerd gelaten. Ga naar hier voor meer details en een paar tijdelijke oplossingen.
Update 4 (21 november)
IST 09:50 am: TeamYouTube heeft contact opgenomen met een andere persoon die is getroffen door de bug waardoor managers en redacteuren geen video’s naar het kanaal kunnen uploaden.
In zijn tweet beweerde TeamYouTube dat het maken van een nieuw kanaal met het e-mailadres dat aan het betrokken YouTube-account is gekoppeld, het probleem tijdelijk zou moeten oplossen. Helaas bevat de tweet geen details over wanneer het probleem zal worden opgelost.
We hebben vergelijkbare rapporten gezien van aangewezen kanaaleditors/-managers. Als je een nieuw kanaal maakt met het e-mailadres dat is gekoppeld aan het betrokken YouTube-account, kun je in de tussentijd uploaden als tijdelijke oplossing

Update 5 (24 november)
IST 07:45 pm: sommige YouTubers melden dat ze niet kunnen streamen omdat de foutmelding’Live streaming is nu niet beschikbaar’blijft verschijnen. Ga naar hier voor meer informatie over het probleem.
Update 6 (25 november)
IST 13:40 pm: YouTube moet het probleem nog oplossen waarbij het volume van advertenties veel te luid is in vergelijking met het volume van de eigenlijke video. Dit probleem speelt al een aantal jaren. Ga naar hier om meer te weten te komen over het probleem en waarom het het geval is.
IST 14:55 pm: YouTube Premium-gebruikers die de service op hun Smart TV’s gebruiken, melden dat ze nog steeds advertenties te zien krijgen, ook al zou YouTube Premium een advertentievrije ervaring bieden. Meer details hier.
Update 7 (27 november)
IST 07:20 pm: Veel YouTube-webgebruikers melden dat de thema-optie standaard blijft ingesteld op Lichtmodus, zelfs nadat de Donkere modus is geselecteerd via de instellingen. IST 05:35 pm: het lijkt erop dat veel gebruikers een probleem hebben waarbij de autoplay-functie blijft werken, zelfs nadat deze in browsers is uitgeschakeld. Gelukkig lijkt het erop dat YouTube op de hoogte is van het probleem en dat er aan een oplossing wordt gewerkt.

IST 09:35 am: sommige YouTube-videomakers beweren dat ze geen likes krijgen voor hun recente video’s, ook al hebben mensen deze video’s wel leuk gevonden. Hoofd hier voor meer informatie over het probleem en waarom het kan optreden.
IST 04:17 am: sommige YouTube-gebruikers (voornamelijk in Europa) worden nu geblokkeerd voor het bekijken van bepaalde video’s met een prompt waarin om informatie wordt gevraagd, zoals creditcardgegevens en documenten met betrekking tot leeftijdsverificatie. Update 11 (4 december)
IST 18:00 uur: veel YouTube-videomakers konden de realtime weergavetelling niet bekijken in YouTube Analytics en kunnen nog steeds geen statistieken zien voor een bepaalde periode. YouTube werkt momenteel om het probleem voor iedereen op te lossen. Ga hier voor het volledige verhaal.
Update 12 (5 december)
IST 13:15 uur: degenen die zich hebben aangemeld voor de gratis proefperiode van YouTube Premium, hebben moeite om een manier te vinden om hun abonnement op te zeggen. Ga naar hier voor meer informatie over het probleem en een mogelijke uitweg.
IST 18:10 uur: YouTube TV-gebruikers melden dat hun scherm blijft bevriezen wanneer de Metro by T-Mobile-advertentie begint te spelen. Het probleem is officieel erkend en er wordt gewerkt aan een oplossing. Lees het volledige verhaal hier.
Update 13 (7 december)
IST 13:15 uur: Na maandenlang gebruikers lastig te vallen, heeft team YouTube nu bevestigd dat de AS-10-fout bij het genereren van inkomsten met kanalen nu is verholpen. Ga hierheen voor meer details.
IST 18:55 pm: Veel gebruikers beweren dat de YouTube-linkvoorbeeldfunctie niet langer werkt in apps zoals WhatsApp. Sommigen zeggen echter dat het probleem is opgelost via een recente update van WhatsApp. Lees ons volledige verhaal hier.

IST 12:00 pm: het lijkt erop dat het probleem met de YouTube-linkpreview is verholpen in de recente bètaversies van WhatsApp voor Android. Dit is echter niet het geval met de nieuwste WhatsApp-bèta voor iOS. Meer details hier.
IST 17:30 uur: YouTube heeft het probleem met het aantal weergaven in realtime in YouTube Analytics volledig opgelost. Het bedrijf is begonnen met informatie die van invloed is op gebruikers van hetzelfde. Bekijk alle details hier.
Update 20 (26 december)
IST 15:17 pm: Sommige eigenaren van YouTube-kanalen beweren dat ze het tabblad Community niet kunnen gebruiken, zelfs niet nadat ze 1000 abonnees hebben gehaald en ze langer dan een week hebben onderhouden.
Gelukkig heeft YouTube-ondersteuning het probleem erkend en wordt beweerd dat het het momenteel onderzoekt. Dit betekent dat getroffen gebruikers binnenkort de functie voor het tabblad Community kunnen verwachten.
Update 21 (31 december)
IST 18:21 pm: sommige gebruikers hebben ernstige problemen met scrollen in de YouTube-app op Android en op de desktopsite op macOS. Als gevolg hiervan is er een hele reeks klachten geweest op verschillende forums en subreddits.

IST 16:38 uur: YouTube was in 2018 begonnen met het oplossen van het probleem met ontbrekende offline/gedownloade video’s, maar recente rapporten suggereren dat het probleem jaren later nog steeds aanwezig is. Lees er meer over via deze link.

Update 22 (23 januari)
IST 11:29 am: een aantal PlayStation 4-gebruikers meldden dat ze een zwart scherm tegenkomen wanneer ze YouTube op de console proberen te bekijken. Gelukkig werkt YouTube al aan het oplossen van het probleem volgens deze tweet.
IST 11:46 am: verschillende Twitter-gebruikers meldden dat ze geen YouTube-voorbeelden konden laden na het kopiëren en plakken van een Twitter-link. Het goede nieuws is dat het probleem opgelost is. snel genoeg.
IST 11:55 am: verschillende YouTubers meldden dat ze de eindschermelementen van oude, reeds gepubliceerde video’s niet konden wijzigen. Een foutmelding”eindschermelement is te klein”verscheen altijd bij een poging om dit te doen.
Nogmaals, zoals het er nu uitziet, is YouTube vandaag opgelost het probleem.
Update 23 (27 januari)
IST 12:26 pm: er zijn in het recente verleden een aantal problemen opgedoken, waarvan sommige al zijn verholpen, terwijl andere wachten op oplossingen van YouTube.
Als iemand af en toe last heeft van het vastlopen van de ESPN-app op YouTube TV, dan is het probleem naar verluidt verholpen. Het verhaal is hetzelfde voor het probleem met het wisselen van account op Android.

IST 13:14 pm: verschillende gebruikers hadden de afgelopen dagen melding gemaakt van het defect raken van de YouTube-zoekoptie op kanaalpagina’s. Als je erop klikt, krijg je niets terug. Goed nieuws is dat het eindelijk opgelost is.
IST 13:19 pm: Er zijn verschillende klachten binnengekomen over YouTube Live die niet werkt op Roku en Fire TV Stick. Maar om de een of andere reden blijft de live chat zichtbaar.
Het goede nieuws is dat YouTube bewust is van het probleem en werkt momenteel aan een oplossing.
IST 13:22 pm: een paar gebruikers hebben ook gemeld dat ze problemen hebben met het verbinden via de livechat. Dit kan te maken hebben met het bovenstaande probleem. Gelukkig wordt hier ook naar gekeken.

IST 04:00 pm: Several users are reporting that their YouTube Android app isn’t loading at all and instead displays a blank screen with an infinitely spinning circle.
Thankfully, the issue should be gone now as a Community Manager on the YouTube forum says that it has been fixed.

IST 05:07 pm: There have been several reports from at least YouTube desktop users saying that thumbnails aren’t loading for them. Thankfully, YouTube is already aware of the issue and is working on a fix.
Update 43 (March 15)
IST 04:01 pm: Some Android users are reporting that the YouTube app no longer respects the screen timeout settings after a video stops playing.

IST 06:03 pm: Some users are unable to upload their videos to YouTube because it gets stuck while processing the HD version of the video. Thankfully, YouTube has confirmed that they’re aware of the issue about slow uploads and are working on fixing it.

IST 11:03 am: YouTube has been quite busy responding to queries on Twitter regarding several issues at hand. We have rounded them up and shared the details below.
1. The issue where some YouTube creators are unable to create custom URLs even after meeting the requirements is being looked into. Details here.

IST 07:35 am: It seems that folks on all platforms (1, 2, 3) are having an issue with YouTube as the video quality automatically drops to 360p even after selecting higher quality video playback options. YouTube is yet to acknowledge the problem officially.
However, it seems that the issue might be due to the heavy load on YouTube servers as pointed out by an individual.
Update 46 (March 20)
IST 01:37 pm: The YouTube app has suddenly stopped working for many Apple TV users. It throws a “Something went wrong” error upon trying to watch any video.
Thankfully, Team YouTube has responded on Twitter saying that they’re already aware of the issue and a fix for the same will be rolled out soon.
IST 01:42 pm: Several users are having trouble adding their tax information on YouTube. The error code reads OR_AMF_04. Thankfully, this issue too has been escalated to Google.
IST 01:46 pm: There are a few reports doing rounds about YouTube videos flashing green and black randomly. Fortunately, YouTube is already aware of the problem and is working on a fix.

IST 01:40 pm: Team YouTube can confirm that devs are aware of the HBO Max TV Everywhere login issue and is working to resolve it.

IST 02:08 pm: There have been some reports doing rounds about videos getting stuck in “checking” for monetization and the Studio home page not updating itself to the latest stats.

IST 05:06 pm: Several users have reported that embedded playlist are not working on YouTube. The workaround is to remove “videoseries” from the standard embed code. Also, YouTube is already looking into the issue.

Update 60 (April 16)
IST 03:15 pm: 1. PlayStation 5 and Xbox One users report that most of the tabs that run along the sidebar on the YouTube app are missing. Subscriptions aren’t showing up either and the only tabs that are showing up are the generic ones like gaming, music, and news.
Thankfully, YouTube is already aware of the issue and working on a fix.
2. There is a discrepancy between likes and dislikes on the watch page and YouTube Analytics that’s affecting many channels and the YouTube dev team is aware of the issue and already working on a fix.

IST 12:05 pm: 1. Some users report that video uploads are getting stuck on the “Running checks” stage. YouTube is already aware of the issue and is investigating it.
2. Some users report that video chapters are failing to work on YouTube but the dev team is already looking into the matter.
3. The YouTube app for Xbox keeps crashing for some users and the only way to work around the problem is by re-installing the app, which can be quite frustrating. For this, YouTube has said the following:
If you’re playing a video and launch a game using the ‘app switcher’ the console may shut down due to a Microsoft firmware bug (they’re working to fix it). To get around this, start the game directly from the Home screen or exit the video before using the app switcher.

Wanted to clarify: an issue starting mid-April caused pre-roll ads not to serve on videos 2 mins long – this didn’t impact video recommendations on Up Next or Home, but exclusively affected pre-roll ad serving. It was fixed yesterday & revenue should normalize within a few days

IST 01:33 pm: Some users report that the recent uploads are not appearing on YouTube search. Fortunately, YouTube has stated that they’re already working on a fix for the “No results found” issue.
Recent uploads aren’t the only thing that the search function isn’t displaying as a few users have also reported that latest videos (including live streams) are not appearing on search results. YouTube is working on fixing this as well.

IST 02:15 pm: Some users are having trouble posting into the YuTube Community Tab as posts keep disappearing. Thankfully, YouTube is already aware of the issue.

Our team is still working on a fix for Chapters issue. For now we recommend re-editing the video, making sure that it has least three timestamps listed in ascending order. Length of each chapter is at least 10 seconds. Let us know how that goes.

IST 01:05 pm: Some users say that the playback error for ‘more than 3 devices’ is still happening despite a fix rolling out a while back for the same.
IST 01:13 pm: Some YouTube TV users say that the playback controls for some shows are messed up. The title of the show is wrong and the entire timeline for the episode is scrunched into a tiny portion in the right-hand portion of the bar.

IST 01:57 pm: Some users have been unable to upload their videos to YouTube saying that uploads get stuck. YouTube says that they’re working on a fix and that facers of the issue should try a different browser or use incognito mode.
