Android 11 is het nieuwe gesprek van de dag, in ieder geval voor degenen die enthousiast genoeg zijn om elke nieuwe release, bèta of stal in de gaten te houden. Natuurlijk willen veel Xiaomi-fans graag weten of en wanneer hun apparaten de Android 11-update zullen ontvangen.

Google kondigde in maart de eerste preview-versie voor ontwikkelaars aan en heeft sindsdien heeft de eerste openbare bètaversie uitgebracht. In tegenstelling tot de eerste, kan de laatste worden gebruikt door iedereen die bereid is de wateren te testen voorafgaand aan de stabiele release die waarschijnlijk begin september begint.

Maar omdat het een onvoltooide versie van het besturingssysteem is, is de toegang tot deze firmware nog steeds beperkt tot een bepaalde groep telefoons van verschillende apparaatleveranciers. Google, OnePlus, OPPO, Vivo en Xiaomi hebben al apparaten in het programma en in dit artikel houden we de voortgang van de laatste bij, of het nu bèta-of stabiele releases zijn.

Vorig jaar schreef Xiaomi de Mi 9 en Mi MIX 3 5G in voor het bètaprogramma van Android Q. Dit jaar nemen meer apparaten deel aan het vroege bètatestprogramma, wat betekent dat ze al toegang hebben tot de nieuwste Android 11 Beta 1.

Update 1 (29 juni 2020)

Nadat de update beschikbaar is gemaakt voor handmatige installatie, rolt Xiaomi nu Android 11 beta 1 uit naar de Mi 10 en Mi 10 Pro via de ether, maar nog steeds beperkt tot het bètakanaal.

Update 4 (8 juli 2020)

De update naar Android 11 wordt niet beschikbaar gemaakt voor Redmi 8A-bezitters, eindelijk niet in een officiële hoedanigheid. Bekijk het volledige verhaal hier.

Update 5 (9 juli 2020)

We hebben verschrikkelijk nieuws voor Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S-bezitters met betrekking tot de Android 11-update. Blijkbaar wordt dit toestel niet geüpdatet naar het nieuwe besturingssysteem, althans niet officieel. Bekijk het volledige verhaal hier.

Update 6 (10 juli 2020)

De Redmi Note 9S is voorgeïnstalleerd met Android 10 en komt daarom in aanmerking voor ten minste één grote OS-update naar Android 11. Maar om de lucht voor de twijfelende Thomas te klaren, heeft Xiaomi wat gewicht aan de zaak toegevoegd. Bekijk de details hier.

Update 7 (14 juli 2020)

In reactie op een bezorgde Redmi Note 8-bezitter heeft een lid van het Mi Device Team in het Mi-forum onthuld dat details over de update naar Android 11 op dit moment nog steeds niet beschikbaar zijn. Bekijk het volledige verhaal hier.

Update 8 (26 juli 2020)

Een van de moderators van de Mi-community heeft nu gedeeld dat Redmi Note 9 Pro (wereldwijd) en Redmi Note 9 Pro Max de Android 11 (Android R)-update zullen krijgen. Hoofd hier voor de volledige dekking.

Update 9 (30 juli 2020)

De Redmi K30 Pro ontvangt nu een nieuwe bèta-update voor Android 11. Deze nieuwe update wordt uitgerold als versie 20.7.30 en brengt geen grote veranderingen met zich mee. In plaats daarvan brengt het verschillende bugfixes en optimalisaties. Bekijk het volledige verhaal hier.

Update 10 (3 augustus 2020)

Xiaomi heeft nu een lijst uitgegeven met smartphones uit zijn portfolio die de Android 11-update zullen krijgen. De eerste set stabiele Android 11-updates komt samen met MIUI 12 en wordt in september uitgebracht. Bekijk het volledige verhaal hier.

Update 11 (14 augustus 2020)

De Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 krijgt mogelijk later dit jaar de Android 11-update volgens een moderator op Mi Community. Het krijgt echter geen speciale Android 11-bèta, maar krijgt Android 11 via een MIUI-update. Bekijk meer details hier.

Update 12 (20 augustus 2020)

Veel Xiaomi-gebruikers zijn gefrustreerd nadat ze via een onofficiële lijst vernamen dat apparaten zoals de Redmi Note 7 Pro en Redmi Note 8 Pro de Android 11-update niet zullen krijgen. Voor meer informatie over de kwestie, ga hierheen.

Update 13 (22 augustus 2020)

Er is een vermeende lijst van in aanmerking komende Android 11-apparaten van Xiaomi opgedoken. Deze lijst toont alle smartphones van Xiaomi die mogelijk de Android 11-update krijgen. Update 14 (27 augustus 2020)

Xiaomi Mi CC 9 Pro is onlangs begonnen met het ontvangen van de bèta-update voor Android 11 in China. Het is vermeldenswaard dat de update momenteel alleen bedoeld is voor testers, het is nog steeds beschikbaar voor iedereen die geïnteresseerd is om deze update te downloaden en te flashen op hun Mi CC Pro. Update 15 (31 augustus 2020)

IST: 15:05: We hebben eerder gemeld dat Xiaomi interne testprogramma’s voor Android 11 uitvoert voor verschillende apparaten die in aanmerking komen voor de update. Volgens recente informatie werkt Xiaomi aan Android 11 voor nog een paar apparaten, zoals Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro (globaal) en Redmi 9A.

IST: 20:05 uur: Poco F2 Pro-gebruikers wachten nog steeds op de bèta voor de aankomende Android-versie. Een gebruiker ging onlangs naar het Mi Community Forum om te weten wanneer hij de bètaversie van Android 11 voor de Poco F2 Pro kon verwachten.

Update 16 (1 september 2020)

IST: 18:05 uur: In een recente ontwikkeling hebben we vernomen dat Xiaomi nu is begonnen met het rekruteren van Mi Pilot-testers om Android 11 op de Global Stable uit te proberen Beta ROM voor specifieke apparaten, namelijk Poco F2 Pro, Mi 10 & Mi 10 Pro. Lees de volledige berichtgeving hier.

Update 17 (2 september 2020)

IST: 16.30 uur: Een moderator van de Mi-community toen hem werd gevraagd naar de bètatests van Android 11 op de Redmi Note 9 heeft geantwoord dat zodra Google Android 11 officieel uitbrengt , kunnen in aanmerking komende apparaten kort daarna bètatests ondergaan op basis van MIUI.

Update 18 (4 september 2020)

IST: 16:40 uur: Xiaomi lijkt de Mi Note 8 en Note 8 Pro uit hun Android 11-roadmap te schrappen. Dit lijkt duidelijk van een Mi Community-mod die onlangs heeft bevestigd dat beide apparaten niet in aanmerking komen voor de volgende grote OS-update. Lees het volledige verhaal hier.

Update 19 (7 september 2020)

IST: 13:47 pm: Het komt nu aan het licht dat Xiaomi van plan is om een ​​niet-China-first benadering te volgen bij de uitrol van Android 11. Update 20 (8 september 2020)

IST: 12.00 uur: Veel gebruikers die zich hebben aangemeld voor deelname aan het bètaprogramma van Android 11 hebben niet de benodigde informatie verstrekt. Daarom is er een waarschuwing afgegeven aan de officiële Mi Global Community Telegram-groep. Hoofd hier om het te bekijken.

IST: 18:24 uur: In antwoord op een vraag van een gebruiker over de beschikbaarheid van Android 11 op de Mi MIX 3, verklaarde een moderator dat het te vroeg is om weten of de update zal aankomen op de Mi MIX 3, ook al komt deze technisch in aanmerking voor de update.

Update 22 (10 september 2020)

IST 01:23 pm: Xiaomi heeft de Android 11 bèta-update uitgebracht met MIUI 12 bovenaan voor de wereldwijde varianten van de Mi 10 Pro. De nieuwe update wordt uitgerold voor gebruikers die zich hebben aangemeld voor het bètaprogramma als versie 12.1.2.0.RJAMIXM. Voor meer informatie, ga hierheen.

IST 18:25 uur: Xiaomi heeft officieel kondigde de release aan van de Android 11 bèta-update voor de standaard Mi 10 en ook met de MIUI 12 Global Beta Stable ROM-versie 12.1.2.0.RJBMIXM.

Update 23 (12 september 2020)

IST 17:36 pm: Volgens een moderator bij de Mi Community mag Xiaomi geen gebruikers werven voor het testen van MIUI 12 op de Redmi Note 9, maar het kan gebruikers werven om Android 11 op de apparaten te testen. Gedetailleerde dekking hier.

Update 24 (14 september 2020)

IST 17:20 pm: Dankzij een aangepaste ROM-ontwikkelaar kunnen Redmi K20 Pro-gebruikers nu Android 11 uitproberen in de vorm van een AOSP-aangepast ROM voor de apparaat. U kunt de ROM bekijken en downloaden door naar hier.

Update 25 (15 september 2020)

IST: 12:20 pm: In antwoord op een vraag van een gebruiker over de beschikbaarheid van Android 11 voor de Redmi Note 8, een Mi-forum moderator verklaarde dat Android 11 officieel niet beschikbaar is voor de Redmi Note 8. De mod heeft geen ETA voor de update bekendgemaakt.

IST: 14:35 uur: Xiaomi Mi A3-gebruikers zullen teleurgesteld zijn te horen dat de Android 11-update voor het apparaat mogelijk niet snel zal verschijnen als moderator verklaarde dat er nog steeds geen verwachte aankomsttijd is voor de update op het apparaat.

Update 26 (18 september 2020)

IST: 23:20 uur: een nieuwe aankondiging stelt dat sommige apparaten, waaronder de Poco X2, zijn opgeschort voor de update v20.9.21 omdat de belangrijkste Android-versie wordt geüpgraded. Dit komt erop neer dat Xiaomi binnenkort op zijn minst de op Android 11 gebaseerde MIUI 12 beta-stabiele update voor deze apparaten kan uitbrengen.

Update 27 (21 september 2020)

IST: 12:21 pm: In antwoord op een vraag van een gebruiker over de beschikbaarheid van Android 11 voor de Redmi Note 8, heeft een mod nu verklaard dat het apparaat zal Android 11 niet krijgen. Hoewel het op Android 10 gebaseerde updates zal blijven krijgen. Zie meer details hier.

IST: 18:48 uur: De Xiaomi Redmi 4X is uitgebracht met Android 6.0 Marshmallow aan boord en heeft alleen de update naar Android 7.1.2 Nougat ontvangen. Gelukkig kunnen Redmi 4X-gebruikers Android 11 op het apparaat proeven via het op AOSP gebaseerde Revenge OS-aangepaste ROM. Download het hier.

IST: 12:47 uur: In de tweede sessie van #POCOAMA hebben de bedrijfsleiders bevestigd dat de Poco X3 zeker de update naar Android 11 zal krijgen , het is echter onduidelijk of het Android 12 zal krijgen. Volledig verhaal hier.

IST: 17:39 uur: Op basis van details uit de onofficiële lijst met Xiaomi Android 11-apparaten, lijkt het erop dat de interne tests voor de Redmi K30i 5G aan de gang zijn, Redmi 10X Pro, Redmi 10X 5G en de Poco X3 NFC.

Update 30 (30 september 2020)

IST: 12:21 pm: Een Mi Community-mod reageerde op de vraag van een gebruiker met betrekking tot Android 11 voor de Redmi Note 9S door te stellen dat de update eenmaal beschikbaar zal zijn Xiaomi ontwikkelt een op MIUI gebaseerde Android 11 ROM voor het toestel. Bekijk de volledige antwoord hier.

IST: 13:46 pm: Xiaomi moet nog een stabiele Android 11-build voor zijn apparaten uitbrengen. Het test echter Android 11 met MIUI 12 bovenop de Mi 10-serie. Dit betekent dat sommige Android 11-functies zijn toegevoegd aan MIUI 12 volgens een rapport.

Om te beginnen zijn de Chatbellen aanwezig en verantwoord. Verder is ook de weergave Gesprekken in het meldingenpaneel toegevoegd. Dan hebben we de privacyfuncties van Android 11 samen met een nieuw dashboard in het Control Center.

Maar aangezien het zich nog in de bètafase bevindt, zijn er veel bugs en problemen die de ervaring nogal onaangenaam maken. Dat gezegd hebbende, zullen we moeten afwachten wat Xiaomi te bieden heeft zodra de stabiele update wordt uitgerold.

IST: 12:45 pm: Xiaomi is yet to begin a wider rollout of the stable Android 11 update for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. Now, both devices have bagged the October security update and it’s likely that the next update may bring Android 11.

IST: 01:43 pm: According to information shared in a Xiaomi-focused Telegram group, the Android 11 update for the Mi 10 Lite is now under internal testing. Of course, this is unofficial information and must be taken with a grain of salt.

Update 51 (November 16, 2020)

Update 52 (November 17, 2020)

IST: 02:00 pm: Xiaomi has reportedly released the Android 11 update for the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom with the stable MIUI 12 version 12.1.3.0.RJKCNXM in China. This new update is rolling out with a download size of around 3.3GB.

IST: 07:25 pm: A Poco official has now claimed that the company never advertised Android 11 for the Poco F2 Pro even though it did back in June. The device is yet to get Android 11 in beta or stable form. More details here.

Update 53 (November 18, 2020)

IST: 07:25 pm: Xiaomi seems to have released the stable Android 11 update with MIUI 12 version 12.2.2.0.RJBCNXM on top to Mi 10 units in China. The update was previously released last week but was rolled back, possibly due to bugs. More details here.

IST: 12:20 pm: Surprisingly, Xiaomi appears to have released the stable Android 11 update based on MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 9 Pro (sold as the Redmi Note 9S globally). Head here for all the details.

Update 54 (November 19, 2020)

IST: 12:45 pm: Apparently, Xiaomi is “working hard” to release the Android 11 update for the Redmi Note 8 soon, according to a support representative for the company. Of course, support reps don’t have a flawless track record and thus the information should be taken with a grain of salt.

IST: 01:30 pm: It appears that Xiaomi has revamped the Volume Rocker UI in the recent MIUI 12 closed beta version 20.11.17. The new MIUI China System UI Controls App version V1.0.055 has been extracted from the build and users can try installing it on their devices.
